Viola is CIVIC’s Researcher in the Central African Republic. Based in Bangui, she leads the organization’s work on the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). Before joining CIVIC, Viola served as an Information Analyst within the Joint Mission Analysis Center (JMAC) of MINUSCA. As an Information Analyst, she provided analysis and recommendations for MINUSCA’s leadership and decision-making processes. During this time, she worked as a Desk Officer for the Centre East and Center dossiers and successively led thematic research on regional affairs, as well as arms trafficking and proliferation in CAR. Viola’s previous experience in peacebuilding and humanitarian disarmament includes field program support at Interpeace and research & advocacy at Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom in support of international campaigns for a nuclear weapons ban treaty and stricter legislation around the development of fully autonomous weapons. Viola holds an MA in Geopolitics and Grand Strategy from the University of Sussex and an MA in Philosophy from San Raffaele University.
