Sory Berete is the Security and Logistics Officer for CIVIC’s Sahel Program, based in Mali. He specializes in security, safety, and logistics management in emergencies and has advanced knowledge of Mali’s administrative procedures and actors responsible for security management. Sory also has specialized knowledge of the Sahel regions affected by armed conflict, more precisely the Center and North of Mali and the regions bordering Burkina Faso and Niger, as well as the typologies of civil incidents.
Sory recently worked on the criminal chain project covering the regions of Central and North Mali, executed by International Development Law Organization (IDLO) as Local Assistant Security of Mali, and previously he was Head of Safety and Security on the USAID/ Emergency Education Support Activities Project in Central and Northern Mali executed by CAMRIS International from 2017-2018. Additionally, in 2015 Sory was Head of the Logistics and Personnel Department of Bady Mining Corporation.
Sory holds a Master’s Degree in Private Law (Business Option) at the Faculty of Legal and Economic Sciences of Mali.
