Sarem is CIVIC’s researcher in Nigeria. She obtained her doctorate in Environmental Geography, with expertise in food security and livelihoods from the University of Nottingham. Prior to CIVIC, Sarem worked with Community Links and Human Empowerment Initiative coordinating their research activities, designing and implementing projects. This included drafting policies, writing proposals, and collating data to commence a UNICEF project that addressed sanitation needs in Internally Displaced Persons Camps in Benue State, Nigeria.

Sarem brings extensive research experience in literature reviews, design, implementation, data collection, analysis and report writing.
