Sara Petrovski is a Senior Researcher for CIVIC’s Africa Program.
She provides high-level research support across the Africa Program, including on design of research methodologies, editing research publications, conducting field research and mentoring staff.
Sara has proven skills in analysis, policy advice and investigation and more than ten years of professional experience, including over four years in the field, mainly in conflict zones.
She has an extensive knowledge of political and security contexts in East and Horn of Africa and the Great Lakes region and before joining CIVIC, she led a series of research projects on the security sector reform, protection of civilians, armed groups, conflict analysis, migration, peace keeping and violent extremism.
Sara holds an MA in Human Rights from the University of Sussex, School of Global Studies, International Development and an MA in anthropologyfrom the University of Belgrade, Ethnology and Anthropology department, both obtained with Distinction.
A PhD Candidate at University of Belgrade, Ethnology and Anthropology department, focusing on the anthropology of armed groups.
