Hashim Wahdatyar is a Senior Program Manager at CIVIC with over 15 years’ experience in regional cooperation and development in South and Central Asia and the Middle East. He specializes in areas such as peace, security, and developments.

From 2018 to 2019, he served as a Program Director at the Institute of Current World Affairs based in Washington DC. In 2017, he Joined Accion International and managed the Harvard Business School and Accion program on strategic leadership for CEOs from across the globe. Hashim served as spokesperson and senior program officer of the United Nations Regional Program for Afghanistan and Neighboring Countries for almost a decade.

He is an analyst on foreign policy, peace, and security, as well as a frequent commentator in media. Hashim’s opinion and pieces have appeared in The Diplomat, The Washington Post, Voice of America, Al Jazeera, BBC, and other major publications.

Hashim holds an MA in International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid.
