Abdulnasser Alhaj is the Community Engagement Officer for CIVIC’s Yemen Program. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree of English Language Studies from Taiz University, Yemen. Previously, he worked with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) as a Protection Assistant in Hajjah and Amran governorates, helping provide internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Yemen with protection services. Abdulnasser also worked for Intersos as a Protection Monitor in Taiz Governorate and supported IDPs with emergency assistance since escalation of the war in 2015. He also conducted Rapid Protection Assessments to identify the humanitarian situations that the IDPs suffer for Coping Positive Mechanisms. Additionally, he worked  with Oxfam GB in Yemen as a Senior Protection Officer to include Safe Programming under the Do No Harm principle and supported Protection Projects, Community Based Protection Networks, International Humanitarian Law, Protection Studies, and contributed in setting up a Community Centre to address the protection needs of persons with specific needs (PWSNs).
